XNC 2142 - WomenHeart: A Day of Women's Heart Health
This workshop, co-sponsored by WomenHeart:The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, brings together a dynamic panel of cardiologists, other health care professionals, and women living with heart disease to present a day of 'heart-felt' learning surrounding women and heart failure. This workshop provides you with an opportunity to learn about heart disease in women as no other workshop can provide. For all who join us who are heart survivors (or the professional who cares for them), this workshop will give you an opportunity to talk with other survivors and health care professionals who will enable you to learn more about women living with heart disease and empower you to become your own advocate. RNs, LPNs, APRNs, social workers, counselors, psychologists, registered dieticians, and respiratory therapists will earn 7 contact hours ACHAs will earn 7(RC). PTs and OTs will earn 6.5 contact hours.

1. Understand the physical and psychological impact of heart disease on women. 2. Identify the risk factors for heart disease, and the signs and symptoms of a heart attack in women. 3. Understanding cardiac arrhythmias and their treatment. 4. Discuss broken heart syndrome and the effect of stress on the heart. 5. Understand the relationship between cancer treatments and heart failure.
